Thread: FSX default 747 display problem

  1. Default FSX default 747 display problem

My FSX 747 is showing both flight & ground/static wing configurations while in flight. In short, while in flight, from a spot view, or when viewing other 747 air traffic, the wings appear to flex, as they should, but also show as unflexed at the same time. This gives the illusion of 4 wing tips per aircraft and only 2 wing roots. I know as a fact the 747 was never produced as a biplane! I am running XP with FSX & SP1. I have not installed SP2 or acceleration. Is there a patch, or should I simply reinstall from the disc & add one or both SP's.
I do not have time or desire to thumb through 500+ pages of threads to see if this has been previously addressed. Any help appreciated!

I would try a re-install of FSX using the 'repair' option, and I would also install SP2.
However, doing this might affect an addon you have, so you might have to re-install one or more addons. I think it's safe to say that most addons for FSX require SP2 anyway.

  3. Default Still haviing problems...

Tried a repair reload & no improvement. Completely removed FSX & reloaded clean, looked fine. Added SP 1, & the display problem returned. I do not have the hardare to run SP 2.

I would install SP2. I use it. You can always un-install it.

your computer might be to weak to run FSX at a high performance....the support for wing flex is needed on a good graphics card. i had the same problem with wing flex before i installed my new graphics card...so try turning the feature off or run at a lower preformance...meaning lower the mesh and scenery...

    good luck!
