DCS Black Shark looks very cool. Just want to check what performance I'd get and whether I need to invest in new hardware.

Very basic PC specs:
512mb nVidia GeForce 9800GT
Q8200 quad core 2.33ghz
4Gb RAM
Vista Home Premium 32-bit

Can DCS unlike MSFS take advantage of 4 cores? Not just for loading like FSX, but actual gameplay? Or does it shove the load on the first processor?

I own no TrackIR (yet, Christmas is coming...), but have just won a Saitek X-52 Pro off eBay for £60, which I'm chuffed with.

Good enough for DCSBS?

Would you recommend it, over a top quality addon for FSX/FS2004 (REX2.0 maybe, or a nice PMDG/Level-D)?
