A little new at this, so I hope this does not annoy anyone.
RTFM can really get frustrating.
Headings, frequencies, runway numbers. If I'm in Dallas, heading for Houston,
where is this located in my FSX.
Thanks for your time![]()

Welcome to the forums!
go to the map of FSX and click on an airport, this will give you all the info such as ILS freqs, headings, etc...
also, the GPS can give some info, read the Learning Center article for the GPS, you'll be surprised at what you can learn![]()

Chairborne has a great suggestion but some of the airports in FSX dont have the most up to date info
frequencies, headings, etc. change so the most up to date info on airnav may not be the same as in FSX
thats why i use the map or the GPS because all the info is correct for FSX

By going to 'Map', via panel Icon or main Menu, you can zoom in/out, push your mouse cursor against sides to move map around. You can also zoom out and move your tower (click it first) and move to your present location, even if 20/200/2000 miles away.
When you first enter map the button for 'Aircraft' is checked. What is neat is that you can grag aircraft (with left mouse button click and hold) and DRAG, THEN DROP (by release of mouse button) YOUR AIRCRAFT TO ANOTHER AIRPORT nearby or 100 miles away. How cool is that. (You can't do that with GPS-hehe). I play a lot with this feature to go see what the airport surrondings look like (trees? moutains? rivers? etc). You can do 'hops' across a state with this feature. No need to slew. The scenery takes a minute to load and wala, you are there. When you drop on airport you usually are put on runway start position (you will see the black airplane align itself to runway-cool stuff).
If you are zoomed way out to where airports show as tiny dots, you can still hover your cursor on those tiny dots, to display the name of airport. Click while name is being displayed and a window will pop up. Click on airport to get info. And this is possible while you are flying and click on panel icon (it will pause sim) and when done click 'Ok' and you will be back flying and back in panel view. If I was a college grad I would do my thesis on this feature of FSX. 'Map My FSX World'? 'FSX World is On Map'? (Being silly now). Cheers.

PS:Edit: Oh, and for the real airport view, you might enjoy browsing this site: http://www.gearthhacks.com/ . It has TONS of 'stuff' related to GE. Hours of fun. Just enter 'airports' in site search (top right) (Or, just enter ICAO-that works too) and sit back (or should I say STAND BACK. Will knock you down there is so much info.
