Default Aer Arran Flight RE312 // Cardiff to Dublin // ATR-72

With the weather not playing fair (again!) today’s VFR tour flight did not take place… So, as I was at Cardiff, I picked another flight to do today instead. I hope you enjoy the shots! I apologise about the poor aircraft model. I searched high and low and this is the only freeware Aer Arran ATR I could find. It is for FS2002!

    Details:
    Aer Arran Flight RE 312
    Departure Time (Cardiff) 10:00
    Arrival Time (Dublin) 11:05
    Cruise: FL180

    1) We’re ready to begin boarding, although why are those people standing around?

    2) As the real flight did today, we taxi out on time…

    3) Yuk – glad I’m not in the Piper today!

    4) As we leave Cardiff, you can see the cloud and murk hanging over the area…

    5) We’re cleared to FL60 but soon given higher to FL80…

    6) Part of the Welsh coast line just about visible

    7) Overhead Port Talbot, near Swansea…

    8) As we enter the cruise, over the Irish sea, there is nothing but undercast as far as the eye can see…

    9) There are some cells to avoid as we near the coast of Ireland…

    10) As you can tell, this is not REX...

    More to follow…

    11) Our first glimpse of the “Emerald Isle”

    12) We let the autopilot make the ILS approach today!

    13) Could this be Anthony Vallillo in his AA 767 waiting to depart to JFK? Although I don’t know if he ever flew to Dublin. By the way I recommend you all to read his incredible and fascinating series of articles here on flightsim.com if you haven’t already done so.

    14) Soon we’re parked up with the other company aircraft and ready to shut down.

That’s all folks – thanks for looking – hope you enjoyed and I’ll be on with the tour again soon hopefully!

Nice shots Andrew, I remember flying that ATR in an Air New Zealand livery back in the FS2002 days - talk about a blast from the past!
