Hello everyone!
I have not been able to be here as much lately as I want to... but I do have several folders of pictures I have made over the last several months which I plan to share with you. Here is one of those flights.
For this FSX post, I was flying the DG 808S 18-meter Sailplane and I also have a picture of the Ultralight Trike. I really like flying sailplanes myself, because they are so quiet...relaxing & thrilling @ once!
I used to fly R/C sailplanes on a weekly basis for many years, and I used a "High-Start Launch" system to get the glider to altitude.(basically a HUGE rubberband with a small parachute attached) I eventually learned how to end the flights by catching it with my bare hands (very exciting!)
Back then, I was flying the now expired model design known as "The Gentle Lady" by Carl Goldberg Models, which featured a 72" wingspan & required 2-channels of R/C. It looked very much like the beautiful glider included with FSX. I sure do miss that sailplane!

Glad to see you back at the forum Glenn, missed viewing your posts.Well have a great weekend my friend

However, in the new FSX platform it is AWESOME! The wind noise is very realistic and the weightless feeling of silent flight in a glider appears to be very well represented (based on what I think it would feel like in the real world, not having actually done it yet!) Also in FSX, you have the option of using a towplane to take you aloft, which can be a lot of fun!
