Thread: Installing an Add-On Aircraft

  1. Default Installing an Add-On Aircraft

Hello All - Since I just purchased a Jetline computer, I am finally able to try out FSX which I have had for years, but could never run satisfactorily.

Question: I am attempting to install a downloaded 737. The instructions tell me to place it in the "Airplanes" folder (It was "Aircraft" in FS9) but no such folder seems to exist. Can anyone tell me where the aircraft folder is, or where we place new aircraft in FSX.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I am new to FSX.

    Thanks,

    Kevin

    Look in the Simobjects folder.

If you have Windows XP, it's located here.
    Microsoft Flight Simulator X/Simobjects/Airplanes
    Intel Core i7 975 Extreme (3.86GHz)
    12GB Corsair Memory
    Nvidia GeForce GTX 285
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit

Be aware that using FS9 aircraft in FSX may cause inconsistencies in the visual and flight model.
