FSX textures in FS2004

I currently have both of the above versions of Flight Simulator. I like FSX, but I love FS2004 (due to having more planes, fps etc.). The only downer is that the ground textures on FS9 are trashed by those on FSX. I am considering investing in Ground Environment Pro, and FSGlobal. But, being not loaded with money, if I could find a substitute to the former payware (GEPro), I would be cool.

I thought that maybe, you could overwrite the ground textures in the Scenery-World-Texture folder, or maybe even that entire folder.

I have tried that Lennarts Textures thing, but could not get it working, probably through an installation fault. (it says Windows Error 5, or something like that-any insight?)
