Last Minute Question

I have my OLD XP computer hooked up to my ONE monitor. I am posting from the OLD computer which is bravely keeping up the fight. I have my new Vista computer set up next to it. I don't want to Shut Down my OLD computer if I can help it...It could die...and right now it is working fine. I want to switch my monitor over to the NEW computer to install NEW MSN software from the CD I just recieved in the mail from MSN.

QUESTION: Can I remove the DVI monitor cable from the OLD computer while the OLD computer is still "POWER ON" without damageing anything..?? SPOFF
