To Africa we go...

It's been a while since I've used the CLS A340-600, and urgh, what a learning curve it was for me again. But that could have been due to exhaustion and lack of sleep.

Anyway, continuing my trip, I made the long haul from Frankfurt to Johannesburg. I've also been playing around with some new toys, and I must say, the sunrises using Activesky are quite breathtaking.

At Frankfurt:

As we make our way over Italy, we say goodbye to the sun:

And then, after another 7 hours, we say hello to the sun again:

And then, after remembering how to turn the autopilot off again, we finally make our way into OR Tambo just behind Springbok 235 from Heathrow:

It was probably the exhaustion talking, but it took me ages while on approach to figure out that the reason my autopilot wasn't "turning off" and making me spiral towards the ground was actually the result of my joystick unplugging from the USB port.

I made the next trip from OR Tambo to Istanbul Atat�rk, which should be lumped into the next update. Now I just have to figure out if I wanna get to Toronto direct on THY, or head down to Tel Aviv and make the trip on the good ol' El Al planes.
