Thread: Question

    Default Question

I've starting really getting into FSX and have started investing into payware aircraft.

My question is this, is there anyway to get these said aircraft to fly as AI aircraft, randomly, like the default stuff?

Also, in the same token, is there any way to have these craft sitting on the tarmac, like the default aircraft??

The reason I ask is, I'm bored of seeing the same Mooney Bravo parked, or flying in formation in an F-16 with a MD83.

you can use payware aircraft as AI by assigning a flightplan to them, however, there are several disadvantages

    1) effect on FPS- payware are more detailed than default and the amount of FPS loss will increase when using them as AI

    2) assigning flightplans- you must assign the flightplans for each aircraft and for each departure/arrival its going to make

    3) payware aircraft are not designed to be used as AI, if used, AI aircraft may display wierd errors or fly erratically

your best bet is to invest in a payware traffic program (such as MyTraffic, Ultimate Traffic II, or Traffic X) or to go to World of AI (http://www.world-of-ai.com/) and download their freeware AI packages which are very easy to install

Ok well let me ask you this, how do you assign flightpaths for AI craft?

More than anything, I'd like to have some of the planes parked on the tarmac. I'm sure that Nellis AFB has quite a few planes sitting on the tarmac vs this odd empty parking lot feeling I get now...

Ok... You need to install the FSX SDK to do this using Traffic Tools. If you don't have FSX Gold or Deluxe you can't do this. You then write them from within this tool.
I fly through the valley of death, but I fear no evil, for I am at 80,000 feet and climbing. Let's powerdive and scare that poor soul in that Ultralight there.

Download Markus Brunner's GA_Traffic from the library. It'll create 'random' flight plans for you using whatever planes you want (it'll even create AI-lite' versions of the planes if you need them). Almost instant traffic across the whole world. Brilliant!
