Thread: Duplicate Reg. #'s

  1. Default Duplicate Reg. #'s

I was watching some of the King School's videos on communication on youtube. Martha's plane i think was a Mooney Bravo reg N94KS. So i typed in N94KS and it came up as a Cessna Skyhawk. So does the FFA allow duplicate registration numbers if owned by the same person?

It's pretty simple. One plane, one N number. Just like a car...

its possible that the registration was "transfered" between the two aircraft, but no two planes can have the same reg

N94KS was issued to that Cessna in August 2005. What was the date of the video you were watching?

FAA records do not show you the aircraft which had a registration number in the past. And many, many reg #s are recycled.

The only aircraft currently listed with King Schools as owner is a C-172 - N81KS - on 2/13/2008.

A Google search shows King Schools awarded give away aircraft in 1994 to T.A. (AL) Marshall or Valkaria, Florida in 1994 - a Mooney Special Edition Reg N94KS

It's not common practice for governments to retire registration numbers. They get reused when an aircraft gets scraped and when their was a accident and write off...

One of the planes in my flight school crashed killing one of our instructors and a student. That one was C-GSCN

Since that registration has been reissued

    Old Cessna 150 C-GSCN crashed 8-June-98:

If an aircraft is re-registered in the UK it gets a new number, not its original number G-AWJZ is now G-OJVH.
