Thread: RAM Question for FSX?

  1. Default RAM Question for FSX?

I have 1 GB, if i add another 1GB will that replace the existing 1GB or will it 1+1=2? So i would have 2GB or just 1 still?

if you add another stick of memory without removing what you currently have then if will add, but make sure you have the same type of memory and the same speed.

As long as you are putting the new memory into an empty slot (most all computers have at least 1 extra memory slot for a total of 2 slots) then you will have 2GB. But like RFS001 said, make sure you get the right kind of memory for your computer or it won't even fit. You should be able to find that info on the internet. I know that the PNY Technology website has an interactive memory configurator guide based on your computer brand and model. Here is the link: http://www3.pny.com/configurator/ind...ategory_ID=386

Also if your computer has two banks (ie. 2 'banks' with 2 slots each, for a total of 4 slots), put one stick in each bank. Don't fill one bank and leave the other empty.

Exactly! This isn't the train-sim forums where they are much more stricter on post placement!

LOL - Train people - heh

I thought if you put a faster ram simm with a slower ram simm the faster one would run at the speed of the slower one.
