    Default There IS a CURE...

    Hi fellow FSers,

I asked for your help in restoring missing default planes and was thinking that would retstore the missing tow plane. YOUR SOLUTION WORKED!

I reloaded the program and selected the REPAIR option. All of the default planes reloaded and all of my addon planes were untouched ( as far as I know ) and it looks like my few addon freeware scenery files are working and it also got rid of an annoying " missing file notice" that popped up everytime I loaded a plane or made a change. So you see....there is a cure for the summertime blues, as was said in a very cool "fifties song" by Eddie Cochran. Thanks again for the great help, I should have asked right you when it first happened. I hope this helps someone else.

    Follow up question regarding repair

Add-on planes can be simple or complex, simple being planes you just add to the airplanes folder(carenado or stuff off Simviation) and complex being planes requiring an install process with new .dlls such as the level D 767 or PMDG.

I always figured a repair would leave the simple planes untouched, but how about the complex ones? Do they still work or do they need to be reinstalled?

    Thanks

A repair wont touch any addons you have either scenery or aircraft. If you were to uninstall FS you would be left with your addon scenery and airplane/aircraft folders since there are non-defualt items in there that the FS installer does not recognise so will not touch.

    Cheers
