Clipped Wing Corsair

I pride myself on being an amateur historian of the Chance-Vought Corsair, and to my knowledge only the British Fleet Air Arm operated this unique version of the F4U during WWII. Albeit only from Carriers around late 1945 in the China Sea - That is for the Pacific War, European theatre ops for this aircraft I don't know much about. FS allows so many possibilities.

Thanks man, actually most Corsair pilots in the Pacific theatre flew with open canopies during taxi & takeoff as well as low altitude cruise flight while enroute to intercept or strike destinations. Pappy Boyington was known to keep the cockpit enclosure "cracked" so he could smoke ciggies before engagements as well as to keep some ventilation - Corsair pilots did not have the comforts of modern air conditioning.
