OK, I am really impressed with the Phoenix Software Airbus package. It's not as nice as the Flight One Boeing 737-400 software, but still impressive ( maybe I enjoy the Boeing family of planes more)
My question is this. I have figured out many of the functions on the Airbuses', but I cannot figure out how to get the planes to complete the flight I have programmed into the FMGCU.
For example, when I engage the autopilot at 1000 feet agl ( don't tell me to try and fly it manually, this is what they do with REAL Airbus planes. I think they engage the A/P sooner really) I should think the plane should fly whatever is programmed into the FMGCU (or FMC if you wish). I mean, when you pull up the FMGCU, all the data is there ( speed limit at 250k below 10,000 ft, top of climb, waypoints, etc.)
However, when I engage the A/P, the plane either rolls over violently, crashing. Or it pulls itself into a ridiculous climb that it cannot maintain and stalls. It stalls so violently, there is no chance to recover. ( By the way, a real Airbus will not stall. Well, there are ways to make it stall, but in normal flight, the computers will not let the airplane stall.)
So, if anyone else has this software, please let me know what I am doing wrong, what step I am skipping, whatever. This is a good program and it irritates me that I cannot use it properly. For now, I will just play with my Boeings.
Speaking of Boeings, are there any great Boeing 757 programs out there for Fs 2002 Pro?
Thanks,
AJL
