views without seeing plane...

Hi...
I have been using fsx for about two months, with previous experience on various fs versions going back to the atari and apple days.

On fs 2002 for instance when I was in the cockpit mode with only 6 gauges showing (or none) I would be able to look left or right or whatever, without seeing any parts of the the plane (wing, window, etc.).

This does not happen with fsx. I cannot get a clear unobstructed view. Is it possible with fsx?

I don't think so... or I don't know of any way, short of disabling the Virtual cockpit altogether. Correct me if there is.
