    Default Best laptop for FSX

    Hey Everyone,
I have to buy a new laptop for work. I travel and it needs to be now bigger than a 15" screen (try using a 17" on a Dash 8!) Can anyone recommend a machine that will run FS X? I would love to be able to fly on the road.
    Thanks!!

    Default Laptop aviators

    Hello,

I run FSX on my 2 year old Dell Inspiron 6400 with a Core 2 and a stock Intel chipset graphic card. I run XP sp 2 and in external views it is a little slow and stutters on many of the planes but inside the cockpit, the panels look good and most planes work well.

I have packed my laptop along many times and enjoyed some flying time while away from home. The trick is the controls. The power source, stick and throttle are very bulky but if thats no problem then enjoy. A newer, faster computer with a better graphics card will likely give you better results. Let us know what you find.

Thanks, Cal! Yeah, I sure wish that they made a 3 axis joysitck w/throttle in a "travel size."

    It really depends on money

Dell and Alienware make good laptops. But any search on google will bring up some companys' websites that make performance laptops, give it a try and configure yourself one, and see how much it comes to.

I've been very happy with my Dell for the past couple of years. Runs FSX reasonably well, but it's a 17", and I wouldn't call it exactly travel friendly...
