    Default Civa ins

    Hi all.

Just a note to say I installed the CIVA INS using the installer provided by "meatwater" and it works a treat. I already had the INS units installed as I use them on the SSTSIM Concorde, and I would advise anyone who fancies a change from using the FS9 GPS to give it a go.

On a seperate note I have recently started using the "mouse macro" features of FSUIPC. This means many cockpit switches can be assigned to a yoke/throttle quadrant button. For example I have assigned the aileron/elevator switches on the A/P panel so that a press and release of one button on my yoke will now switch on the A/P. A second press releases the two channels and switches it off. If anyone wants details I will happily provide them.

    Hi Peter,
I was just trying to figure out how to assign AP and AT disconnect through joy buttons. I have tried to assign them via the FS2004 menu to no avail. It seems it accepts the commands coming from the keyboard only.

    I wait for your suggestions.

    Thanks
    Lorenzo

PS: OK the 727 hasn't any AT, but it's good to have the "know how" for other planes.

Do you have FSUIPC registered (paid for) version ? You will need it to create a "mouse macro" to switch the A/P on and off with a joystick button.

The 727 does have an A/T ..... using the Ctrl-R key combination which you can assign to a joystick button too.

Yes I have the registered version, but I have no idea of what a "mouse micro" is about: is there any literature to look at?

    Thanks
    Lorenzo

EDIT: yes I know CTRL+R and i have tried to change assignement, but it doesn't work. It seems that it works only with this combination of keys.

First off go to http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html and download the lates version of FSUIPC.
The User Guide has a section on the Mouse Macro, but basically you:

    1. Start FS9 and load your 727 and open the A/P window.
    2. Open the FSUIPC window and click the "buttons+switches" tab
    3. Press "create mouse macro" Name your macro "727" for example.
    4. Press OK to close the FSUIPC window
    5. Mouse click once on the AP elevator channel switch.
    6. In the green macro box that appears type "AP Elevator" for example, and press the return key on your keyboard.
    7. Mouse click once on the AP Aileron channel.
    8. Type "AP Aileron" for example and press return.
    9. Open the FSUIPC window and on the buttons+switches tab click "end mouse macro"
    10. Press your joystick button you want to use for the AP switch.
    11. On the right of the FSUIPC dialogue box tick "select for FS control"
    12. In the first drop-down box (Control sent when button pressed) find your Macro: "727 AP Elevator"
    13. In the second drop-down box (control sent when button released) find your macro : "727 AP Aileron"
    14. Press ok to close FSUIPC window.

Now when you press and release the joystick button, the two channels will be switched on and your A/P is active. To turn it off press the button again.

I am finding the mouse macro great for many addon aircraft I have where I cannot assign a function to a button using the normal FS controls.

Let me know if you get stuck.
