FSX slow start up

recently, a friend of mine has bought fsx. activated and installed. but he recently has a new problem, when on start-up the splash screen hows and a little later a white box, size as a loading box. it loads for almost an hour. wat could this be.

its a vista home edition i belive. and maybe an AMD proccesor.

could this be something /w the aircraft.cfg file??

Hi,

visit www.blackviper.com and disable as much as possible in the background.
Makes FSX load a lot faster on my machine although if it's taking an hour maybe you just have a very slow machine. Try a defrag and post your system specs.

Some people had issues of extremely long load times when their anti-virus was active. He can try disabling anti-virus when running FSX. And a de-frag is certainly a good idea.

Lots of RAM cannot hurt either, but try posting the system specs here and we'll see what we can do. Defrag is certainly a thing to try so FSX doesn't have to spend more time than necessary looking for the files it needs.

i would have to agree with all this advice exept the fact i cant get any specs now b/c its my friends and he lives in the US (im in europe) ill have to wait for the weekend for that information to come in.
