idea for a flight sim cockpit

first off, i want to use a REAL cessna 152 or 172 cockpit. just need to go to a salvage yard and cut the wings, nose, and tail off.

next, where can i find some info on converting the gauges from the cockpit to work with flight sim x and what program, if any, would i need to make them work?

Simkits makes USB based Gauges. The kits are cheaper, but they do sell fully assembled ones too...GOOD LUCK!

i found a setup that fits my needs with the cockpit cut to spec and all the gauges and controls. I am going to replace the throttle and controls with other stuff, but the gauges will stay. i just want to know if i can convert them to work with my comp and if i need special software so i can send the info to the from the game.

You might want to check the guys out over at www.virtualthunderbirds.com in their forum. One of their guys, Gunner I believe is his name did a entire working F-16 cockpit. Heres the link maybe he can help you out a great deal.
