    Default Should I buy PS744?

    Hi all,

since I am one of those FS users that doesn't really care about the scenery, hardly does any vfr flying etc., I am always looking for panels with "lots of buttons" for maximum complexity (and, not being a real pilot, I assume maximum reality). Reading the latest version of PCPilot magazine, I came across an article about a guy who builds his own B747-400 sim in a 10 year project. (incredible, see http://www.hyway.com.au/747/747.html ). He uses Aerowinx Precision Simulator 744 as the core engine for his simulator. This product is positioned as a "CBT for the B744".

Questions: Does anyone have this software, how much is it, and is it worth it?

    thanks,

I have messed with PS1.X a few times, but I don't own the product. If you like lots of realism WITHIN the cockpit, then PS1.3 is for you. However, you will need to do a lot of studying to get the systems worked out. If you have 767PIC, then you will know a portion of what PS1.3 has to offer. Just about everything is modeled and functional. However, the scenery is not a strong point. But then again, this is a systems simulator, not a scenerey simulator. Lots of folks use this software and love it for what it has to offer.

Be prepared to pay a premium for it though: $260.

If you want more info about it, go to www.aerowinx.com

I own the 747 Precison simulator and I have to say if you want the actual workload of a 747 pilot go for it. The graphics are horrible. Not even taxways are there and it is always night when your on the ground(pretty sure). Another thing the panel covers 95% of the screen(no joke)! I would recomeng 767pic over this. It runs off FS2002 and you have a panel that does almost as good as the Precision simulator. As far as the $260.00 not worth it. I would like to know this if anyone knows how to get my version of Precision Simulator 1.2 to work with Windows XP could you please help.
