Thread: Wing flex _ It used to, now it doesn't!

  1. Default Wing flex _ It used to, now it doesn't!

    Greetings,
I am running FSX on my laptop computer. It was handling everything well until i did something that caused the wings on the glider, and other aircraft to stop flexing. I haven't a clue as to what I did, or how to undo it.

I have tried making the aircraft full realistic - no joy.
I tried changing the settings withing the computer, and i think that may have caused the issue (Nividx (sp?) controller, or something like that?)

What settings should i have to see the wing warp? It's taken away from my gaming experience, and just pissing me off!

Any and all help/advice is appreciated. I like some of the stuff on here, but so far, FS2004 I find more stable.

I had a somewhat similar problem. My default 747-400 use to feature full wing flex. Now when the plane takes off, only the flaps, slats and ailerons flex upwards. The wing does not! So the control surfaces appears to fly in formation with the wing rather than attached to the wing!

I think it's under settings, look for something like advanced animations and make sure it's on.

Speaking of flexing, the FSX DG glider flies with its wings permanently flexed upwards like a banana even in gentle level flight, is that normal?
I mean, I could understand them bowing under G-load during manoeuvres, but not in level flight..

I'm well familiar with FSX and the menu's, but I'm not sure what you are referring to. Please explain, I think you have the right answer
    Thanks!

That is the Shader Model version that your video card supports. Any ATI or Nvidia video card produced after about 2005 supports shader model 2.0.
