can anyone explain to me how to make a ref and check list that will show up in my aircraft panel knee board.

If is not too difficult. They are basically a text file which has been converted to HTM format - i.e. a web page which is viewed with a browser.

Take a look at this file:

It describes how to easily make Briefing files (which are HTM files also) and you can use the same recommended program (Note Tab Lite) and concepts to create your own ref and check list files.
