Troubles running FS2002 under xp

Please help!few months ago I installed xp and then FS2002 which ran smoothly till I had to format the hard drive and reinstall everything from scratch.From that time on,after the initial screen fs2002 crashes and the system revert to the winxp desktop...I would like to point out that no hardware changes has been made and I installed all the latest drivers for my devices.For further information I would like to say that I recently had to reinstall again everything from scratch but I 'm facing the same problem?
Anybody has a clue?

From what I've read your problem is invariably caused by the original drivers replacing newer drivers. You said you reinstalled all the updated drivers, though. Perhaps you installed a driver newer than what you were using and that's causing the problem. If you remember what video driver you were using before the reinstall see if you're using the same one now.

Thanks for answering so quickly.I thought it might have been a driver problem... I'm not even sure I still have older drivers...I'm running an Asus geforce2 GTS with latest detonator drivers(which I downloaded today!)...uh! I forgot to tell you that cfs and cfs2 run like a melody...

Sometimes drivers that are too new are as bad as ones that are too old. Try the latest driver recommended by Asus, which is not necessarily the same as the latest beta driver from Nvidia. I have lockups if I use the latest Nvidia drivers, so I only use the latest OEM drivers.
