    Default Still have tree problems.

This is what I did. I downloaded AGExcl_3x and opened it. I have an Addon Scenery folder directly under the Microsoft Flight Simulator X folder. It contains two folders, Scenery and Texture. So I copied over the scenery files from the AGExcl_3x and placed them in the Scenery folder under the Addon Scenery folder. Then I ran the program. When it started to run I got the "rebuilding scenery..." so I thought it saw the scenery. But when I went to VNLK near Mt. Everest I still had trees near the end of the runway. I did not ses a difference. I even went to the scenery library and moved up the Addon Scenery to the top. When I went back to the program it reconfigured and it was still the same. What am I doing wrong? I am not good at adding scenery and stuff and I saw the post about the trees at the end of the runway so I thought it would help. If I DID do it correctly, could it be possible I may need the 5x version?

    Thanks.

I found it right here in the library. I forget the exact name. It is in a thread below. I did a search in the file library and found both.

Make a new folder structure, such as \FSX\Addon Scenery\NoTrees\scenery. Take all the BGL files from the 3x package and put them in the folder. Activate the new folder using the FSX scenery library and go check out some fields to see if it works.

The author used a program to create an exclusion area for each airport runway - and it was done in a batch mode.

Unfortunatly some airports did not work correctly in the batch mode.

VNLK is really messed up in the default FS. For one thing, it's above the tree line and there should be no trees at that elevation.

The runway and terrain are offset wrong also.

That one is going to have to be fixed with a specific exclude just for that airport.

Thanks to you both. I didn't know about VNLK. And I am going to change my folder structure to what you mentioned.

    I appreciate your help.

    Default Excludes?

I downloaded the above mentioned file, but cutting down the trees at all airports seems a little extreme. For now I just want to remove the large tree on very short final to Lakes Region (8B8) runway 30 in NH. I dabbled with scenery excludes in FS9, but is it the same in FSX, and can someone who remembers direct me to the appropriate files?

    Thanks.

FSX Scenery excludes are different than FS2004 for autogen.

I use ADE - Airport Design Editor - but it requires the Deluxe version of FSX to be able to compile the files.

    Another option is FSX-KML

After installing the AGExcl you may have to reduce autogen to get the desired result in some locations
