Default Can someone answer a question for me, please?

I'm sure this has been asked before and the answer's probably buried deep within the bowels of the forum here, but can someone please tell me what the difference is between a mesh, terrain, and scenery is and how you apply and use them in FS9? I'd like my British Columbia Rocky Mountains to look like Rocky Mountains and the Alps to look like the Alps and not like the Adirondacks (as beautiful as those are). I can only afford freeware at the moment, so I'm looking to use files here and at other sim sites.

    Thanks in advance,

    N.

    Hi

First off, mesh is the elevation data for the land. For example, it will define where mountains and hills are, along with a few odd sink holes. The mesh is the base layer of the FS world.

Next, terrain data tells the sim what the land is like, a river, sea, land etc. So, all rivers and lakes with the sea have data telling the sim to place water textures there.

Scenery is the final piece of the FS World Jigsaw. It is all the textures you see layered everywhere, along with the autogen and airports. This is the final result you will see.

To install any of it, I download it, place the folder containing it into the Addon Scenery folder. Then, I start FS, go to Settings, click on Scenery Library, then Add Area, select that folder, restart the sim and it should work. If you try that method, you should get it going.

If you need anymore help, feel free to contact.

Flight Sim, it's like a drug, once you start on it, it gets very hard to stop!
