Thread: FSX Settings for Performance with addons

  1. Default FSX Settings for Performance with addons

I have just removed everything FSX and decided to perform a clean install.

So far I have done the following:-

    1. Installed FSX + Acceleration Pack
    2. Installed Ultimate Terrain (USA, Canada and Europe)
    3. Installed Flight Environment X + SHD upgrade
    4. Installed PMD 747
    5. Installed Wilco 737 PIC
    6. Installed FSForce 2.0 force feedback
    7. Installed TrackIR

All other settings remain default, however I was hoping for recommendations to increase the performance etc. from default

Is there anything to change to get my sim more optimised?

I have a Dell XPS 420 with 4GB RAM and 8800GT graphics card

Previously I have gone through this guide but don't know if its necessary anymore with all my new addons:-

Let me know what you do on yours?

    Thanks

    Go to this thread:
    http://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showth...hlight=nhancer

Go to the sixth reply by "NOELL" and follow the directions-Download nhancer, works great for FSX as well!

I would also follow the recommended tweaks at the site you published:

If your running windows xp you could try the ' /3GB /userva=2560' switches in the boot.ini file.

Ok, so I downloaded nhancer and followed the instruction you linked to, however with regards to the following setting:-

Under Anti-aliasing it says to select SUPERSAMPLING and 8xS , however I only have the following options:-

    2x1
    1x2
    2x2
    3x3
    4x4

    Which should I select?

    Thanks

p.s. just re-installed my whole system and gone to Vista 64bit. Are there any performance tuning tips for FSX on 64bit?

    Thanks
