Thread: Leg nine of DH round the world trip (And it might be the best trip ever..)

  1. Default Leg nine of DH round the world trip (And it might be the best trip ever..)

    What can I say, WOW

I just had my greatest flight ever. Makes all the hard work of these flights worth it. I had a hard time culling them down to 19 images.

Flight is MPTO to SKUI, and I went the overland method where I hugged the coastline then went into the valley that wonders down to SKUI. These screenshots as a note, I get this type of graphics at 20+ frames per second.

To top it off, I had to land in the dark, and aced it.

FYI, I have a AMD 64 dual Core 4400+, 4 gigs of ram, running vista and DirectX 10, Geforce 8500 GT. I thank the poster who told me to check my settings.

Now enough yacking, to the screenshots!

    Taking off at MPTO

Surprisingly nasty thunderstorm, had a lot of turbulence

Getting up at my cruse altitude of 11,500

The clouds part and I am right on track.

Soon enough I am out of the storm, and into the best flying of my RTW tour

I now just follow this river up into Colombia! My passport is going to get a lot of stamps!

This flight is so good I decide to keep going to SKUI, I was orginally just going to SKLC, but decided to keep going since the weather was so fine.

Himm, I am going to be racing the sun to get to the airfield, you know what happened LAST time I tried to fly in the dark....

    At 11,500, and looking good.

The sun is setting, can I get to SKUI in time?

    To be continued...

General aviation planes are like girls you pick up in bars, they look best in low light....

Speaking of low light..... one time I met a this Lebanese girl in a bar...wait..this is a family forum...nevermind!

I better put on some lights...

BTW, Marry Christmas all! (or feliz navidad since I in South America....)

The sun is setting, looks great, but I am getting to the airport ASAP...

    Glad I made the trip

    Airport spotted, landing lights on....

See that dark patch, thats the airport....

Going a little fast, hope I have enough runway to pull up, bleed speed, and land

    Safe and sound....

I now have 50 hours of flight time in FSX, and this was my best flight yet.

Beautiful Shots Man! A pleasure to watch!
But why do you put on your NAV Lights only when it gets dark? I thought it is the Law to always keep them on!

    Lol, that's a great one!

I must say that that is rather beautiful, especially, as you said, in low light as the sun starts to go down into the horizon. I must say you have a habit of pushing the boundaries when it comes to your VFR limits, so close to being busted for it!

Flight Sim, it's like a drug, once you start on it, it gets very hard to stop!
