FSX Screen goes black

Hi

When flying around with FSX,for about 10-15 minutes,an annoying problem occurs every time,when the game "freezes",and the screen/s turns black,with only the sound remaining,which results in a manual restart of the whole system,to get things up and working,again.

I have installed the Matrox triplehead2go digital,but the total "blackout" happens both in single and triplehead screen setup.

I am wondering if anyone has encountered the same problem,and has a solution to this problem?.

You havnt said if this occurs before you installed the matrox. It sounds like the video card is getting to hot or could be a driver issue. Try runnng with case open and fan on pc.

You may be running out of memory and FSX is crashing your system before it can tell you. Here is how you fix it. Be sure and read the whole article and understand the steps involved for applying the fix on win xp.

Hi Paxx

Really appreciate your reply,and have tried your "how to fix it" link,and have tried BOTH versions (lines),which has to be filled in to the boot.ini file,but what happens is that with the first line written in,the graphics dissapeard within fsx,so i deleted that attempt.

With the second line written in,i almost flew from Oslo to London without a screen "blackout".

I don't know what could be problem.

I do not know if this will help but I have had similar problems. Through trial and error I discovered that if I go to the Flight Planner and then cancel right out of it all is right with the virtual world. Hope this may help.
