Nvidia 8800GTS

Is anyone else using this Graphics card in FS9?. I am having trouble with 'shimmering'?.
Runway markings move like "tracer bullets" Poles, Fence Posts, etc appear to be moving upwards.
If you are using this Card successfully I sure would appreciate some guidance with settings as it is driving me mad trying to sort it out.

I have also put this in "PC Hardware" where it probably should have gone in the first place.

I have a less powerful card (8500 GT) and have most things maxed out.
One of the few exceptions is MIP mapping (in the hardware section) which I need to reduce to a max of 4, otherwise I get a "shimmering" effect in the middle distance.

I have the exact same card. I found these settings somewhere on the internet. These were pertaining to a Radeon card, but I set all my NVidia settings to match and they work well for me. Obviously your computer setup, processor, RAM, etc are going to impact performance.

Tonyray, thanks for those settings which I will keep for future reference. My troubles are still there so next I will try a new driver. Appreciate you trying to help. Cheers.

I have the exact same card as you and I found that shimmering could be reduced by turning the antialiasing up in the Nvidia control panel as well as switching on FS9's own antialiasing (which I know people say don't do but it doesn't seem to slow things down for me). Theoretically you should only need one of them but running both together seems to get the best effect.
