    Hello,

I have tried to program the PIC737 FMC and have a question : Once I have entered the Departure and arrival airports, I click on the LEG button to enter all the waypoints given by routefinder.com... then if I go and choose a specific SID STAR procedure it will add many waypoints and all seems messed up....... Am I missing something ? What should be the proper way to program this FMC (beside the basic flight info (fuel, speed...)

    Thanks a lot,
    Greg

    cassis,

Any realistic FMC simulation will add those waypoints. The reason is that precisely that SIDs and STARs are defined by waypoints and vertical navigation constraints that in general are not part of the flight plan. Now ...

You may have to join the SID to the flight planned route so as to have a seamless flight path with no breaks. Ditto the STAR. This would depend on both the quality of the simulation and the tactical state of the flight plan at the time the SID or STAR is selected.

    I hope this helps,
