Couple of questions - all help welcome !!!!

Hi Gang,

1. My cockpit & virtual view at start up are missing (ie guages etc). When I press "shift & 1" they reappear OK and operate fine. Is there a simple fix - am I missing something obvious. Sorry if I am !!

2. I have downloaded FSkyworld's excellent cloud package but have noticed despite precipitation set to heavy rain etc - I don't get any !!! Loads o great thunder though !! LOL

3. I also struggle to reset weather to clear - sometimes have to reset 2/3 times before setup page accepts it.

An real answer:
1) When you start flight sim it frequently goes to the setting you had since the last save you did. So if you had the cockpit view closed when you saved the game it will start like that every time until you resave it with it on. Also if you crash the game resets itself either to the last save or the last time you changed a plane/time/airport, whichever you did last, so the same applies.

2) I also have just downloaded the skyworld thing and I am not sure if I like it yet, if I experience a problem like yours I'll ditch it.
3) the weather is a little hooped, happens to me sometimes to!

Just to expand a little on the Ace,

When you go to save a flight, you will see a little box that says "save as default flight". This is the flight that FS refers to for the basic settings every time you start a new flight (note that in the event of an aircraft crash, you will not start a new flight but will revert back to the last saved position of that flight, as Ace pointed out). So, set up a flight with engines on or off, instruments set, etc. as you prefer and save it with a name you will remember, and check the "save as default" box. Now every flight you begin will start up in the same configuration. Feel free to ask if you need more info.
