New to FSX

Hi all,

This is my first post after being a member of flightsim.com for 10 years. I am also new to FSX. My last version was '98 because I just could not get the hardware to run the other versions. You can imagine the jaw dropping experience I had!

Anyways, there is kind of a deficiency in documentation for FSX so I want to know a few things and I think this is the best place to get answers.

1. What happens in an emergency? I did a flight witht he default Baron and armed an engine fire not too long after departure. I wanted to return to the field. However with all the amazing and mouth watering ATC in FSX it seems there is no way to decalre an emergency. I would have to request a different landing site from ATC and then they would put me on a long vectors to final. So is there any way to declare an emergency and get an immediate clearance to land?

2. I often wondered about those two baggage cars at the gates. I only recently discovered by accident while reading the readme for an addon to allow FS9 aircraft to use jetways that I can open the cargo doors and call for the baggage cars. In this forum I discovered that I can request fuel from the fuel truck. Now I need to know, can I request any other service vehicles? I do see fire trucks, deice equipment (I think) and other trucks at busy airports. Can my airplane interact with them in any way.

I had more questions but they don't come to me now. I'll post more later when I remember.

Welcome, FSX has come a long way. First answer is no, you cant declare an emergency, ATC hasnt changed much, would be nice to see it improved, and as for the second question, except for what you mentioned i dont believe you can call any other vehicles, as for interacting, yes you can crash into them or in reality they will probably crash into you ..

Radar Contact will let you declare an emergency. Much more realistic ATC experience.
