    Default Missions in FSX

As everyone who flies missions knows, FSX has brought a multitude for situations that are intriguing, educational and present some new aspects about flying that could never be discovered by just experiences in the real world. For example even seasoned flat-lander pilots can learn from flying in the mountains, a soar plane, a helicopter, and much more.
From the simplicity of fling the Trike, to more challenging situations in soaring, and even on to the more complexities of flying helicopters in windy conditions, just as some for incidences.

Also, if you enjoy fling missions you've probably discovered that even when many of the missions are completed and the success window pops up, most missions can be continued and more discoveries can be made.

At first, I for one flew most of the missions just to complete them. Once I completed all but three for four, I've been flying them to completion and then go exploring from there. It's like reconditioning an old automobile, or rediscovering something that was fun at first, but you've long forgotten. Also, as you mission enthusiasts probably know, there's more dialog left from the co-pilot. It's pretty cool.

Here's my latest dilemma: The Hawaiian Checkout takes you from Molokai airport to Hanna in Maui. When you land at Hanna you get the success window, however, if you notice the flight plan is still active. Here's my problem as it stands now. After taking off from Hanna, the next way point is Molokai cliff 1718'.When I get there, there's nothing to do. I just keep buzzing Molokai cliff, and can't seem to find the solution. I've checked here by searching in the message boards and have come up with zero.

I have some questions that might bring some more renewed interest by others:
    1. Has anyone been here and done the Hawaiian Checkout mission and continued on?
(PS: If you have, you don't need to tell me the solution, I'd just be content knowing there is one).
    2. Has anyone else discovered some very interesting things when continuing after the missions?
    3. What sort of things have you discovered from continuing after the mission was completed?

Perhaps we don't even want to say what we've discovered when continuing missions, because this very thread could intrigue others to fly them again and make new discoveries for themselves.

As example, the very first mission, is a simple takeoff and landing. There's more to it if you continue on.
    That's all I'm saying.

    Have fun

I've discovered this as well, although not in the hawaii mission. I think the hawaii mission is the way it is so that you can continue to explore. After all, he does tell you to take your time and screw off.

There are many other missions with secrets in them, but the internet has ruined most of the ones I've found, so I won't even bother listing them.

    Thanks for the reply Tig

Yes, I figured I could google some answers, but I refuse to let it ruin my day.
I have found some easter eggs in FS that haven't ever been discovered, however when I've posted them, there's always someone who reads it and lays claim for the discovery.

I'm sure most people know the Tokyo helicopter mission has a rather involved extended spy mission... The base mission prompts you to take it when you land the Helo

The Catalina Day Spa mission CAN be landed at Santa Monica if you trouble shoot the engine failure... You don't need to land on the carrier.

The base camp resupply mission up on Denali has an extended mission to rescue a hiker, but again, this is one that the game prompts you for...

I haven't done missions in a while, so I know there are many that are escaping me right now... but I've found each of those three options to be entertaining...

The Oil Rig helicopter mission remains my favorite after all these nearly 24 months.... That mission just never gets old.

    Thanks Kurt,

The Tokyo helicopter mission had me baffled for quit awhile, because I don't usually use the mission compass.......had to use it for that one.
I wasn't aware of the Catalina Day Spa mission alternate. I'll definately try to figure that one out. That's cool!.....Thanks!
The base camp resupply, I'm aware of and yes!
The Oil Rig Helicopter mission actually forced me to learn how to fly the darn things, which incidently I love now that I've learned to fly them. Whew, many hours spent on that mission to rescue all three. It's a wonder I didn't throw this computer out a 100 story building!

that confused me too. I couldn't believe how much exploring there was to be done in this mission and how many thiings and places triggered new dialogue. Still, one of the three main advertised features of that mission, the waterfall was not there. Has anyone found it?

Hipuapua Falls are the tallest falls on Molokai, at the far east end of the island. From Maui, fly to Molokai, the road along the south of the island is Hiway 450, find it, follow it until it ends. The falls (if they're there) are at the end of 450.
