Some of you humans really get into this mole day stuff!
OK, I give up ... Mole Day ?, Worm Day ? Are these like Groundhog Day, and predict some sort of meteorological phenomenon ?!!!
Cheers,

No idea what worm day is, but mole day is actually a sorta holiday... 6.02 x 10^23 = 1 mole
http://www.moleday.com/ if you want to learn some more stuff... it's celebrated on 10-23 (10^23) and begins at 6:02 in the morning to 6:02 at night...
Thanks,

Thanks ! As a chemist I can appreciate the significance !

A mole is the amount of atoms/MOLEcules/cells/whatever to make something happen in biology or physics... it just so happens that it is always 6.02(10^23)... and 10/23 is like a science fair...
hope that clears stuff up...

This explains things better ... I was wondering if I would end up like this in a few years time! :-lol
Blair.
LOL I don't know about anyone else, but when I had Chemistry I last year (10th grade), the teacher passed out brownies and Rice-Crispy treats!
I wish I had taken AP Chem (sort of a Chem II type class) this year, especially when I saw the Mole Day sign outside the Chem room, and since that teacher may be retiring next year. I actually liked Chem I (the math part).
Man, a mole is EVERYTHING to a chemist. You can do anything with moles, especially helpful in stoichiometry (sp?-I'm a bit rusty on that hehe) problems.
BTW, how do any of you pronounce stoichiometry. We said "stoke-e-'aw-metry."
Let's see, um, write a balanced equation, find out what you know and what you don't know, convert what you know to moles, 'MR UK' ("Mr. Uck" lol) (mole ratio-unknown:known), convert moles to desired units. Missing anything?
