Cool Quiet on the Practice Range

Haven't seen many folks out at Reno,,,,Race is next week.

Did get up with Cav and Dusty today before my modem melted.(Good thing cause I was about to take an axe to it,,,,oh well nothing lasts for ever)

TiCav has done a fine job on repainting his DC-3 for the race.

You can see it on the screenshot forum here

ZS-MDR was on for a while with us too.

A couple of screenies before everyone showed up

    Lightbulb

    Hey Cav,

    Already have modem replaced thanks!

The Duenna program was written by John Mueller as a tool for validating flights. In particular the flights that made up each teams effort in the yearly Microsoft Flight Simulator Round the World Race.....we'll talk about that race another time.

It measures your flight in every aspect and will read your simulator settings to see that they are in compliance with rules of the race.

After the duenna stops on a flight it will automatically generate 2 reports.

A jpeg file with a map of the flight ,,,and some other info about the flight and.......

A txt file with a complete log of the flight,,,,lots and lots of info on the flight and your aircraft.

Unless you've made changes from default installation these files will populate a folder that was set up when you installed the duenna and you can find them in the program files/RTW-Duenna/OUTPUT folder. These are the same files that pop up on your desktop at at the end of your duenna flight.

At the end of the text file,,,scroll all the way down,,, there will be 2 copy and paste file paths that you can use as links by pasting them into the same place you paste your screenshots in the 'manage attachments' window for the posts you make right here.

I'll attach a screenie of a txt file...look under the validation-files section to see what I'm "talking" about.

Do another test flight,, duenna running,,and after it stops find these files,,,,you can catch them on the desktop just after the duenna stops the sim and pops them up,,,or as I just described above,,, and make some sort of post,,,,MY filght Today,,,,or whatever and just attach them to that post...right here on this thread will be just fine,,,,as a reply to this post. Should look just my screen shots attached here.

Oh yes while I'm writting here I'll attach a screenie of this year's winner of the Firecracker Run,,,,,,,,,,,zoom in close for a glimpse of the pilot,,,,,you'll see that it is me...:-P.

    Good Luck!!,

    Default Help!!!

ok i need a little help from my friends over here...

i've noticed, during a practice session that the duenna reported me some extrange IAS values, over the normal what i saw in the speedometer.

now, i didn't receive any overspeed warning, but it says max IAS 250kts when it relly was IAS 219kts.

i use the default DC3, which i already tested it through and i pushed the aircraft to it's limits, 220KTS overspeed and later overstressed.
why the duenna tells me this unacurate info?

    used real world weather

    here it is:

    Thumbs up

You are looking at IAS Max which was during your descent and not your cruise.

It does seem a little high, but if you were running flat out before the descent then this is about right.

Also the duenna will show ground speed which will always be a bit higher than indicated,,,sometimes a lot if you have a good tailwind.

Just a little word to ya,,,,,,

If that's all your bringing to the race then you might want to just hang out in the snack bar at the airport,,,,,then we'll let you know who wins......;-)

Here goes something to help with taxiing attached,,,,came from the library here.

Let us know if it works for you.

    Cheers,

    Cool

i'm new in this RACING environment, i've played airshows locally and i won every single event but this is different, maybe we all go to the snack bar wen the race is done, so we can celebrate the winner, and after all we are all folks right?

"practice is what makes a master" my grandmother said so i'm on it

    see you there.

question: at the start of the second leg: do i have to stop to reprogram the duenna or there is the touch and go option?

thanks. we should have a little online practice so i can show you what will i bring to the race, msn: pcava64@hotmail.com online all day long, contact me if you want to race anytime or just a regular flight or just talk
