    Default ADE problem

Not sure if I can report this here, but I have spotted a potential problem with ADE 1.35. When entering a Lat/Long for background images ADE frequently crashes, reporting weird errors to do with format, with what I can see from the code. I have tried different ways of entering the figures but none seem to work properly.

Moreover, sometimes the cursor will leap backwards in the box, putting numbers in the wrong place!

Can anyone enlighten me as to this strange behavior?

Can you please attach or email me (jon AT scruffyduck.co.uk) with the file called ade_200807.log? From that we can probably tell what is going wrong.

Well I can see several problems in the log.
    • A problem with the on-line updater that looks like it cannot access the web site - are you allowing ADE to pass your firewall?
    • A problem trying to load a shape Poly. Presumably a terrain background poly. Perhaps you could tell me what you were trying to do at that point as it appears more than once in the log
    • The error that you mention where ADE is expecting and N or S at the start of latitude and not seeing it - did you paste a co-ordinate value in the box. I thought we had fixed this problem in and earlier version but clearly we haven't . AS you say you tried that a number of times. Is your co-ordinate setting set to Decimal or Degrees and Decimal Minutes (DDM). If it is set to DDM and you are adding or trying to add a co-ordinate in Decimal (i.e 36.789654) then I think a Crash will occur.

My computer isn't connected to the internet usually unless I'm going online - which answers your first question.

For your second question ,which project was it on? I did have lots of problems with polys on EGNC_ADE_JE.

I'm currently set on DDM. I changed this while trying to work this out. What format should the lat/long take on each setting? I'm taking the chords of Google Earth.

I think I may have pasted values in at one point but I can't remember if this made it crash.

These are the chords for the background image on EGNL_ADE_JE:

    Top Left:
    N54.1342
    W3.2774

    Bottom right:
    N54.1229
    W3.2482

How should I put these in?

EGNC. Are you closing the polygon with a double click after you draw it?

It was problems with closing it, yes. I think I've got that one sorted though. I think you fixed it in 1.25. It's the Lat/Long I'm more concerned about. Is that the right format for Decimal?

I just tried entering those numbers in decimal and it CTD'd saying that it was in the wrong format. I pasted them in. Any advice?

EDIT: Ah. Didn't read your first post.
