This probably belongs in the FSX forum, but for some reason, the site won't allow me to post there. I had a problem where FSX wouldn't load. I'd get to the progress bar screen and it would sit there forever. So, probably stupidly, I uninstalled FSX. I should have deleted the .cfg file, but I didn't. Anyway, when I try to reinstall FSX, I get a 1607 runtime error. If I shut down everything using Smartclose, I can get passed this in into the install. However, the program gets to a point where its wowrling on a scenery directoy and again hangs with the drive light and the DVD light blinking simultaneously. I can't get passed this and therefore can't do a reinstall. I'm thinking something in the registry??? is holding things up, but know nothing about that and wouldn't touch. Anyone have ideas on why the install is hanging?? Thanks
Oh, yes. This is on a Dell XPS600 running Windows XP Media Edition
