Thread: Increasing the brightness of exterior lighting?

  1. Default Increasing the brightness of exterior lighting?

Quick question about the CS C-130. I love the plane, but the exterior lighting is really dim. I'm talking about the collision avoidance lights and such. Is there anyway to increase the brightness of them? I'm guessing it may be in the .cfg file for the plane, but am not sure.

Ace, I think there is a switch on the instrument panel that controls exterior light brightness. I would also warn you that if you're flying any of the tactical versions of the C-130 their exterior lighting isn't going to be very bright anyway. This drove me nuts for a while when I first got Cpt Sims C-130. I couldn't figure out why my landing lights were so dim. Wasn't until I started flying the Coast Guard variant that it dawned on me why the lights were so dim.......pretty embarassing for a career military man.

I've asked a similar question without success: I want to dim the interior instrument panel lighting, esp at night - does anyone know if/how I can?

  4. Default

Yes, there is a knob that looks like it controls the brightness, but it doesn't seem like it does anything.

That's a known problem that should be fixed with the SP2 for CS C-130X.

I can't even tell sometimes if the exterior lighting is even on?
That brightness switch on the overhead panel doesn't work.

In the Virtual Cockpit, if you look on the left side panel by the pilots armrest, you'll
see switches for the interior lighting. Those improve the interior lighting a great deal.

Hopefully Captain Sim will soon come out with SP2?
