initial mytraffic X review

Well, I'm not sure what's going on. Before I installed mytrafficX, I enjoyed seamless frame rates nearly everywhere with the default traffic on 100%. With a fresh install of my traffc X, my frame rates went to around 9 FPS. I went in and reduced the traffic to about 50%, and now I see one or two aircraft at every airfield, which is FAR less than with I had with the default, and my FPS hasn't recovered. I'm getting 14FPS now. UNACCEPTABLE!!! Let me get this straight: now I have less aircraft of less quality, and my FPS hit rock bottom? I saw many reviews about how good this program is, and I even read a few people saying that it wasn't that bad on the FPS. What's going on here? I have a good computer!!

I don't want to badmouth this product yet; hopefully there's a solution coming down the pipes in the replies.

Any ideas?

That is strange..I use it and most definately did not get that result....

I would contact their tech support...Thats not right....

is that what your C-17 and C-5 look like?

My FPS are just fine with the Traffic sliders set at 25%.
But, I will admit I'd like to see more static aircraft on the ground.

Something is definately wrong if your FPS took such a big drop?

They used to if I remember correctly,but the patch Version something b seemed to fix that and make lots of aircraft better and DX10 ready......



Do you have the update version b installed....That may be your problem....

I use FS Live Traffic, which is basically My Traffic aircaft. I don't know why you got a sudden drop. If you want to, I'd recommend Uninstalling, shut off all the usual background stuff such as Virus programs, etc, and then reinstall. You may get better results then. Sorry to hear of the bad experience, I love FS Live...

Definitely get the update to version 5.1b.

The manual lists all of the planes that have been updated to the new fsx sdk sp2 standard and the ones that sill need to be updated.

I can't remember which of the military planes have been updated in 5.1b since I don't pay much attention to military planes.

MyTraffic X default install schedules will populate your airports by an order of magnitude over the fsx default schedules. If you're placing your slider at 50%and you're only seeing one or two planes at each airfield (I'm assuming your speaking about ALL IFR flights and not just military) then there's definitely a problem with either your install OR interferance from fs9/fs8 format traffic schedules (WOAI, PAI, UT etc.).

As a comparison my traffic setting is IFR 40% and my fps average 15-25 (locked) depending on the airport. My system is pentium D 3.2 Ghz 4 megs ram and an HD3870.

I would suggest that you pose your question on the forum from which you purchased your software (DVD version is Aerosoft; dowload version is Simmarket).

Read your documentation that came with My Traffic X before uninstallation. The documentation says to follow specific steps, which are listed, to uninstall My Traffic X successfully. It also warns that improper/wreckless uninstallation will result in FSX not working at all.
