Weird happenings with my 8800GT

I've always had this happen with FS 2004 since the beginning, but lately instead of it being a rare occurance, it happens almost every flight multiple times. I'll be flying along just happily and then FS will freeze for about 15 seconds, then the screen quickly flashes and the included screenshot happens. This happens at any time even when I'm not touching anything or moving the mouse.

I then refresh the scenery and everything is happy again, but when I access the map or the lap board, it takes about 15 seconds for FS to change to either and then back again to flying. In those 15 seconds, FS freezes again. Sometimes I get the BSOD and a message saying that NV4_disp.dll stopped responding.

I'm using the latest nVidia driver (I've tried a bunch of them and they all have this happen) with the 8800GT and my other specs are:

Athlon 64 X2 4800+
2GB PC3200 Ram
Creative Labs Xi-Fi Gamer
Windows XP SP3

I also have all of the FS display settings maxed out.

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.
