After an extended absence, I'm pleased that I will be able to post More regularly now that I have FSX and Vista working as a seasoned team on my new Rig..... It only took 10 months. The one down side to being on the cutting edge is that it cuts fast and deep LOL!
Wow! I have to say that FSX is quite a magnifiscant beast once you get it all patched up, though paying for a patch "Acceleration" is foul!! The addons for this thing are what make it phenominal!
For my "first" post back I've selected the Aerosoft Twin Otter-300, I get 70s to High 80s FPS and My Traffic set to 50% and sliders 1/2 to full to the right! In addition to the afore-mentioned addons are AFX (AFCAD for FSX) and instant scenery enhancements to the Ocho Rios Airfield and town while Manley Intl. is a My Traffic-X Airport.
The Jamaican Government's Airservice is considering a replacement to its grizzled 2 ship fleet of Cessna Caravans. The old sinlgle props have taken a beating as both transports in addition to a new role as Coastal Patrol Aircraft. Due to the increase in tourism, coastal activities and epidemic contraband smuggling. The Government published a requirement for an efficient to operate, powerful multi-engine aircradt to replace its aging single engine fleet. Peer and I had been speculating the disposition of the soon to be retired Equadoran Air Force fleet of Transport DH Twotters. We put 2 and 2 together and got eight (Ocho) We could ferry Props in the tropics and turn a nice profit for brokering the deal. After a few rounds at the beer-garten, Carlos was able to spring us one ship for show purposes and off we went to the Isle of Jamaica's north coast! I must say Ocho Rios was a bit of a wild west town and much of the suburb was sliding into the sea, but we had a great time.
