    Default Dakota excellent, some questions

The Dakota's flight model is very good. I feel more like I'm flying a real Cherokee than other simulations. I fly a Cherokee 140 in real life and the Dakota feels heavier more powerful, as it should, and I love the way it reacts to control inputs and to turbulence. Landings seem more real than ever. I've never flown a real 235 hp Cherokee but I bet the Dreamfleet Dakota is right on. The VC is excellent and I am going to enjoy learning IFR with all the toys.

    My questions:
Will SP2 increase performance, fps. I now have only SP1. I have noticed a slight drop in fps compared to other addons, and I do mean slight. I also have the black texture problem on half the airplane. It really doesn't bother me because I don't spend a lot of time looking at the outside of the airplane.

My system for some reason is very stuttery or jerky much below 60 fps. The Dakota runs at a steady 59 fps, for some reason more steady fps than other addons, so it works great. I listed my specs below. Does anyone have any ideas on how to make my machine look better at slower framerates.

I am running UTX and GEX
    Intel core duo, oc'd to 3.186 G
    4 GB RAM
    7800gt, oc'd to 469 Mhz
    Samsung 226bw, 1680 x 1050, 2ms response time

FSX cfg is heavily tweaked with SP1 suggested additions and in-game settings are mostly medium to low. Framerate is locked at 60. If I lock below the fluidity turn to trash. At 30 for instance the sim is totally unusable.

My old crt monitor ran fairly smooth at 30 fps. My widescreen looks so good at 60 fps it is incredible, but won't perform at slower fps.
I'm certainly no computer expert, but if I could figure out the problem I could turn up some FSX settings. If anybody has ideas let me know.

  2. Default

SP2 improved a number of problems with FSX , at the cost of some transparency issues with FS9 props on portovers .
Having both running for testing i note an improved and smoother rendering in SP2 and council its install . CJ
