Never tried it. From what hear it seems to have the edge in some area, but lacks in others. I'd stick with FS, because of the greater support.
Could a moderator please move this to the X-Plane forum?
I fly through the valley of death, but I fear no evil, for I am at 80,000 feet and climbing. Let's powerdive and scare that poor soul in that Ultralight there.
tried it, but not recently.
Was disappointed by the unrealistic panels and overall visuals.
Folks,
There is an X-Plane forum right here on FlightSim.com, and you can learn more about the strengths and weaknesses of FSX and X-Plane by visiting http://www.simpilotnet.com/index.php...&id=18&catid=7, which is a thread at SimPilotNet.com titled "Flight Dynamics: FSX And X-Plane Battle It Out"

I have both X-Plane and MSFS. Been doing this for far too many years; but still prefer FSX/FS9 overall.

jwenting,
Christian Stock, owner/operator of SimPilotNet, is not an X-Plane Fanboy. Instead he's an FSX enthusiast and scenery developer, but the article is technically meritorious and reasonably balanced.

Just reading a few lines from that forum. Here's one dated June of 07.
quote: "Ok, let me say so: I flew real GA planes and have to say, that X-Plane is much more realistic than the MSFS."
Well, I fly real GA planes and have to say that MSFS is much more realistic than X-Plane!
If it wasn't so, I'd be an X-Plane "only" fanatic, since I own the product.

ladamson,
What's your point regarding the article?
I think that you must be reading the forum commentary that resulted from the article's having run, rather than the article itself, no? I'm a moderator there and I remember having to delete an over-the-top post by an X-Plane enthusiast (who later had to be banned from the site), but the rest of it seemed like simply informative, spirited debate -- a Ford versus Chevy kind of thing.
