Thread: Cannot tune NAV1 radio

  1. Question Cannot tune NAV1 radio

    I have the Project Mach 2 Concorde but I cannot do ILS landings. The NAV1 frequency is set to 110.30 but I cannot change it. When I roll my mouse over it +/- appears but the numbers do not change. Any help

    I donīt know the plane, futhermore I donīt know you, your experience, so may be you can try to find the frecuency in the twin indicator beside the one you are trying now, and then click the boton to switch frecuency indicators each other.

    Goo luck,

    Not sure if this could be the cause of your problem. Look in your acft.cfg (radios) section.
    Should look like this.....
    Maybe a 'glitch ' has altered it.

    (1=yes,0=no)

    [Radios]
    // Radio Type = available, standby frequency, has glide slope
    Audio.1 = 1
    Com.1 = 1, 0
    Com.2 = 1, 0
    Nav.1 = 1, 1, 1 [have you a NAV radio, is there a standby freq, does it support ILS?]
    Nav.2 = 1, 1, 0 [ ditto ]

    It's worth looking at

    Hope it helps.

    Changing your [Radios] setup like below will allow you to change all comm and nav frequencies to whatever you wish.

    [Radios]
    // Radio Type = available, standby frequency, has glide slope
    Audio.1 = 1
    Com.1 = 1, 0
    Com.2 = 1, 0
    Nav.1 = 1, 0, 1
    Nav.2 = 1, 0, 0

    I am not familar with your particular bird, but I know that one that I have (can't remember which one right now) has a separate freq. setting for the ILS on a different secondary panel (not the cockpit display). If I remember correctly this is one with a full FMC and bells and whistles (LDS767 maybe, or one similar). Once I intercept the ILS without probably even realizing that the freq. setting has already been changed automatically, I can click on the displayed freq. for NAV1 all day as well as trying to edit it in the FMC to no avail. It will not accept my setting. However, by going to the proper secondary panel that includes the ILS freq. everything falls into place.

    You probably can ignore me relative to your bird, but it might be worth a peek at your other panels to see if there is a unique ILS setting not associated with the NAV1 display.

    Good luck:

    I guessed correctly.

    The ILS freq. for the LSD 767 must be set in the Pedestal panel display. For example, at my home airport, KLWB the ILS freq. for Rwy. 04 is 110.35. The NAV1 setting will not accept this freq. and will bypass it either with a higher or lower number when one tries to adjust it. However, it can be set in the Pedestal display.

    I doubt that this is the case with your Concord, but may be worth confirmation.

    I'll echo the comments about changing the radio section in the cfg, that always worked for me when I found a dodgy NAV1 radio on a freeware panel.

    For the default little C182:

    [Radios]
    // Radio Type = availiable, standby frequency, has glide slope
    Audio.1 = 1
    Com.1 = 1, 1
    Com.2 = 1, 1
    Nav.1 = 1, 1, 1
    Nav.2 = 1, 1, 0
    Adf.1 = 1
    Transponder.1 = 1
    Marker.1 = 1

    Thanks guys, I found the radios section was incorrect. I used whoever suggested the C182's radio section
