Mesh Scenery

Can anyone tell me what mesh scenery is? What does it do etc etc....? I have seen loads of downloads about mesh scenery but i'm unsure wether its going to enhance my Flight Sim.

It is a topograpy of the region indicating scenery relative positions and elevations. It is, in other words, detailed, precise description of the region's, land, hills, mountains, lakes, and rivers.

Also, if you download any recent mesh by Orlando Sotomayor, the readme points to his website which explains this stuff clearly enough.
