    Default Re-install traffic .bgl files

I'm running FS9 in XP Pro and I've had bags of trouble with CTDs recently. I notice a lot of posts about CTDs and it seems the frequency of these is increasing in FS9. Does anyone think Bill could've played a nasty trick and programmed in a 'time limit', or is my paranoia worse than usual today? Maybe CTDs are inevitable as old installs get corrupted with addons etc, and veteran hardware begins to run out of steam. Nothing I did improved the CTD situation so, eventually, on advice, and in order to keep flying I reinstalled FS9 on a different partition.

At the moment this install is running perfectly in a 'virgin' condition. I plan to gradually re-introduce some of my many addons - scenery, aircraft, AI traffic. I will limit these to addons which I really want and will check the program after each addition. Hopefully I can avoid a repeat of the original problem.

I need advice about how to restore my AI traffic. In my original install I got rid of all the default GA and commercial traffic and replaced these with real world schedules using PAI and EvolveAI and similar AI aircraft. My question is, if I copy over the these aircraft and the traffic.bgl files from my old install to the new one will they work? Or do I have to start again and re-create the .bgls with traffic tools?

I always liked that movie. Has sort of a cult following I think. My kids loved it.

I just finished doing exactly what you did. Reformated my drive and reinstalled FS9. I dropped my old AI aircraft into the aircraft folder and then picked all of my old BGL files out of the world/scenery folder and put them in the new install's folder. Worked great. I use mainly WOAI traffic.

    No problems!

Yep, it has a cult following. Great film!

Thanks for the info, jring2. This is good news. I agree about WOAI - I'm using it more and more - it's a great resource.

I guess most payware scenery and aircraft have to be properly installed in the new setup. I don't think their folders can just be dropped in. I'd be grateful for any advice on this.

    Hi,

The short answer is - try just copying them. If that doesn't work, delete the copied files and folders and reinstall.

    Hope this helps,
