.. a Saitek AV8R-01 stick ...

Hey Turbofire, how is that AV8R stick for you? I'm deciding on a new stick, but everything is rather pricey here in Australia compared to what Amazon sells these for, so I have to pick my hardware much more carefully.

From the looks of the AV8R stick, it seems like it would be awkward managing twin throttles behind the flight-stick. And most reviewers of the AV8R-02 mention it is very light and slides around on a flat surface, especially when using rudder-twist without actually holding the base with your other hand. Not sure if the AV8R-01 is different in that regard, but you apparently aren't having any issues with your controller.
