    Default Movies in Air Combat

    I just saw a listing for the Flying Tigers with John Wayne 1942. and it
    occurred to me that there are movies out there which we CFS buffs might find
    especially interesting and entertaining. I can’t think of any right off hand;
    so I wondered if any of you have favorites to recommend to us.
    Has anyone seen the new film “Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow”. What
    plane is he flying? Is it a fictitious H-47 (“H” for Hollywood); or a
    reasonable representation of a real WWII fighter.(Not withstanding the fight
    with aliens of another world.)
    So tell us your pick for fighter plane movies. Go ahead in War Emergency mode.
    Tell us it’s the best movie ever. Or tell us of a historical revisionist
    travesty.
    What ever!
    Looking forward to your responses.

    gallerth,

    Here's one for ya, Pearl Harbor with Ben Affleck and Josh hartnett. Good
    dogfight scenes, True, Hollywood takes great liberties with some aircraft.
    Another one is top Gun, however their use of a Talon as a Mig-28 was pretty
    Lame. Painted Black with a red Star on the tail. Top Gun did use some real
    Carrier footage though.
