    Hi,

Is there any available documentation on installing scenery in CFS? I've d/l'd
quite a few scenery files whose sole instructions are "unzip to scenery folder
(main folder)". This seems a bit nebulous, as others are explicit in which
files go in the scenery folder and which in the texture folder, some even
    requiring their own folders.
    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks,

When you unziping the new scenery zip file using winzip, check "Use folder
names" option in extract dialog window. The result looks like this:
    MSCFS
    |---ADV
    |---AIRCRAFT
    |---CAMPAIGNS
    .
    . (etc.)
    .
    |---SCENERY
    | |
    | |---ITALY
    | | |---SCENERY
    | | | some_new_scenery_files
    | | |---TEXTURE
    | | | some_new_testure_files
    | |---MALTA
    | | |---SCENERY
    | | | some_new_scenery_files
    | | |---TEXTURE
    | | | some_new_testure_files
    .
    . (etc.)
    .

My trick is to not use windows explorer and winzip, but use Windows Commander
only as main file manager. Look http://www.wincmd.com

    Hi,

Thanks for the info. I'm not familiar with commander but I'll check it out.

Should each individual scenery have it's own directory? I have numerous small
ones (a single landmark or small airfield) that are only a couple of files, a
few kb each; I can see where this would easily build into a mountain of
directories if I install much scenery.

On a different note, when I'm flying over the countryside and spot an airfield,
is there anyway to identify it?

    Thanks,

    DPG

Not all. Mostly the individual scenery have a individual directory name and
"scenery" subdirectory only. If the scenery use some non-standard textures (eg.
*.VOD or *.BMB) then have "Texture" subdirectory too.

    I don't know, I think that it's inpossible.
